Jeannine Brown

Dr. Jeannine Brown, Professor of New Testament, Bethel Seminary, Bethel University, St. Paul, Minnesota

Dr. Brown has taught at Bethel Seminary, St. Paul, for 18 years in the areas of New Testament, Hermeneutics, and Integration. She earned her Ph.D. in New Testament studies from Luther Seminary. Her books include Scripture as Communication and Becoming Whole and Holy: An Integrative Conversation about Christian Formation (Baker Academic). Jeannine has published numerous journal articles and book essays on the Gospels of Matthew and John, 1 Peter, and topics of hermeneutics and integration. Her articles have appeared in the Journal of Biblical Literature, New Testament Studies, Catholic Biblical Quarterly, Journal of Psychology and Theology, and Journal of Psychology and Christianity.

Dr. Brown’s current scholarly projects include editing, translating, and ongoing writing. She is an associate editor of the second edition of Jesus and the Gospels (InterVarsity Press, forthcoming). She is also a member of the Committee on Bible Translation, which is the translation committee for New International Version. Jeannine has two forthcoming commentaries on Matthew’s Gospel in the Teach the Text series (Baker) and the Two Horizons series (Eerdmans), respectively.
